Chain Catshark Habitat

The Chain Catshark is found in the Western Atlantic Ocean as far north as the coast of Massachusetts and all the way down to the waters of Nicaragua. They are abundantly found along the continental shelf of the northeastern United States, with groups of Catsharks near North Carolina and Virginia waters. In addition, Catshark species are also found in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

Like other species of Catsharks and Dogfish, Chain Catsharks tend to live on the ocean floor in deep waters. On average, Catsharks live approximately 1,820 feet deep.
